How to Make an Animated GIF with Photoshop Step By Step
Although I do not usually write about this topic, today I decided to write about How To Make a GIF in Photoshop , because I think that more than one can be useful. So today we leave aside topics such as SEO, Adwords, Link building, etc.
How do we create a GIF step by step with Photoshop?
First of all, we have to prepare the photos that are going to compose the animated gif making them of the same dimensions.
Once prepared we open the images in Photoshop:
1.- We open the first image
File> Open or if the program is in English File> Open
2.- We open the other images
To open the other images we can do it in two ways:
a) File> Place (in English: File> Place). This is the most effective, since it places the image perfectly centered, you just have to give intro and each image in a new layer.
b) The other way , and more usual, is to open the images as we have done with the first one and then we select each image to paste it in the first one , where when pasting it is added as a new layer. Or by dragging each image to the first one.
Once we have all the images as layers in a single file we open Window> Animation (or in English Window> Animation . This way, below we will see the space to put the thumbnails that will make up the GIF.
4.- Visible layers
We need to have the layers visible (Layers), if they do not appear press F7.
5.- We relate miniatures and layers with eye
When activating the Animation we have activated the first thumbnail . In it we will see the layer that the eye has . If there are several with the eye we will see the one above. Therefore we must leave each miniature with the layer that interests us with our eye on it.
6.- We add the miniatures
We are adding thumbnails until we have as many as we have images. In the following image we see where to click to add thumbnails.
7.- We assign images to the miniatures
To assign an image to the second thumbnail : click on the second thumbnail and put your eye only on the layer whose image we want to appear.
8.- We continue assigning miniatures
For the third miniature we follow the same steps.
To fix the time of each image we can do it en bloc or one by one.
We are going to do it en bloc . For this we click on the first thumbnail and pressing shift we now click on the last thumbnail. Once we have all selected we click on the arrow that is in any of the thumbnails in its lower right where we can select one of the times it offers us or put a custom one .
We have already made the GIF.
10.- Test the GIF before saving it
Let’s try it out . For this we click on the play icon.
If we need it we can modify the time of each image.
11.- Finally we keep
File> Save for web> choose GIF> click Save
Double clicking on the created file will open our default browser and we will see the GIF working.
We have already finished it. Step by step it is easy to create a gif with Photoshop!
